Loire Valley, France

Review
Real Simple December 2010 Marquis de la Tour Brut Rose -- Festive Bubblies for $20 and Under, Real Simple Magazine ------------------------------------------ Festive Bubblies for $20 and Under: Ring in the New Year with these bargain bottles. This gorgeous French import goes with almost anything: ripe notes of strawberries and freshly baked peaches make it a natural foil for zesty shrimp cocktail and spciy chicken satay. Bright acid notes cut through the richness of potato chips, pigs in blankets, and vanilla cake. ------------------------------------------ Brides April 2010 Brut Rose - Featured in Brides Magazine ------------------------------------------ Tasty $10 Bubbly. ------------------------------------------ Good Housekeeping February 2010 Brut Rose - Blushing Bubbles, Good Housekeeping ------------------------------------------ We like soft, balanced Sweetness with slight acidity. Try with strawberries and cream or as an aperitif. ------------------------------------------ Wine Enthusiast December 15, 2008 84 Points ------------------------------------------ Pure crushed strawberry fruit flavors, with a yeasty overtone, give this wine freshness, but also some sweetness. ------------------------------------------ International Wine Review December 2008 86 Points ------------------------------------------ "This salmon pink colored sparkler blends Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, Syrah and Grenache. It shows upfront fresh, fruity aromas of strawberry, cherry with an off-dry strawberry fruit palate. It has a short but flavorful finish. Pair it with strawberry shortcake.” ------------------------------------------ Every Day with Rachael Ray May 2008 Every Day Menu Planner ------------------------------------------ Pair with Spicy Pork and Pineapple ------------------------------------------ Wine Enthusiast December 2007 ------------------------------------------ Lightly off-dry, flavored with sweet strawberries, the wine's easy flavors are just what's needed for a casual get-together. ------------------------------------------ SAM COOKS Newsletter September 2007 Holy Mole - Wines with Mexican Food ------------------------------------------ For richer or heartier foods such as pork, beef and game, consider a sparkling wine made exclusively from red grapes. Marquis de la Tour Sparkling Rose is a bargain priced bubbly rose from the Loire. Sparkling wines are also lower in alcohol than most table wines. And those bubbles keep the taste buds refreshed. ------------------------------------------ Beverage Analyst January 2007 Mauro on Wine ------------------------------------------ The main course was pasta with calamari in red sauce with breadcrumbs. This is a challenging dish to pair but I think it matched well with the fresh red fruit flavors of Marquis de la tour Loire Valley Sparkling Rosé, a unique blend based on Cabenet Franc. ------------------------------------------ Catering Magazine December 1, 2006 ------------------------------------------ The Marquis De La Tour Sparkling Rosé is a perfectly romantic pour, due to its bright salmon pink color. The Marquis De La Tour is round and fresh with a long finish of red fruit. It has an aroma of luscious strawberries and raspberries. ------------------------------------------ South Florida Gourmet September 20, 2006 Affordable and Delicious Bubblies ------------------------------------------ I served this wine as an aperitif to a group of my fellow Dames d'Escoffier at a recent meeting - this is a group of women highly educated in food and wine - without telling price. Everybody marveled at the gorgeous salmon pink color, the typical Loire Valley fines bulles or small bubbles. Delicate and elegant, with faint notes of berries and ripe fruit, and a good acidity that, as it enhances the taste of the grapes, prserves the wine from being cloying. Clean, crisp and refreshing: this wine competes with the best bubblies I've had, and you can't beat the price. Just don't tell your guest... ------------------------------------------ Wine Report September 2006 86 Points - Exceptional Value ------------------------------------------ Displaying a pretty salmon color with persistent tiny beads, this rose offered floral aromas with hints of cherry and stone fruits. A pleasant, tingly mouthfeel and bright cherry flavors greeted the palate. THE FINISH OF BLACK CHERRY AND CRISP ACIDITY LEFT TASTERS LONGING FOR ANOTHER SIP. This wine is a fine complement to foods, and it would make a perfect companion for a brunch of eggs Florentine and a tropical fruit salad. ------------------------------------------ Wine Investor Buyer’s Guide September 2006 ------------------------------------------ Better than many bubblies served at large events, this would make a good reception wine as it is colorful and drinkable. ------------------------------------------ Miami Herald August 24, 2006 Recommended These picks come without a sour financial aftertaste ------------------------------------------ San Francisco Chronicle August 17, 2006 10 bottles for tonight's takeout ------------------------------------------ For French bubbly at an affordable price look not to Champagne, but to the Loire Valley, the second largest sparkling wine-producing region in the country. The Marquis de la Tour France Rose Sparkling Wine is delicate and dry. Made by well-known Loire producer Remy Pannier, it's a blend of Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, Syrah and Grenache. Rose petal aromas are followed with succulent rasberry flavors in this elegantly styled bubbly. ------------------------------------------

Wine maker notes
This sparkling wine is made from 100% Loire grapes. Because of its northern location, the grapes maintain a high level of acidity. After fermentation, a portion of the juice is removed and the rest remains in contact with the skins to produce a beautiful pink color. Consistency and quality are carefully monitored to create very fine bubbles. The dosage has been perfected to make a clean, fruity but dry sparkling wine of extraordinary quality at a very attractive price.
