Concha Y Toro Chardonnay Marques de Casa Concha 2005

Concha Y Toro Chardonnay Marques de Casa Concha 750ml 2005
Sku: 16692

Tasting notes
Clean and bright, golden yellow. Surprisingly elegant with its aromas of white peaches, papaya, mango and huzelnut. Medium to full-bodied, it is creamy and mineral-rich on the palate. The long finish incorporates all the flavors

Rating
 Wine Spectator 91 points
Shows a nice mix of dried pineapple, papaya, pear and fig flavors, with a long, minerally finish. Has a nice layer of toast, but stays fresh and pure. Drink now. —James Molesworth

Technical notes
Origin: Santa Isabel Vineyard. Maipo Valley. Soil: In the highest part of the Maipo Valley, the soil is a coluvial clay loam affording good water retention and drainage. These soils are richer in minerals that contribute to the structure of Chardonnay. y. Climate: Semi-arid Mediterranean, influenced by the Andes Mountains. This is the coolest part of the Maipo Valley whose large swings in temperature slows ripening of the grapes. Harvest: Hand picked. March 12-16, 2002. Aging: Fermented in new and one and two years old French oak barrels "sur lie" for eleven months. Then aged for a period of 4 months after bottling.
